The UK Genetics of Testicular Cancer Study

- Would you like to help with a research study that aims to identify some of the causes of testicular cancer?
Scientists at The Institute of Cancer Research and the Royal Marsden Hospital are conducting a large study of men with testicular cancer. We hope to collect 3000 men from the UK with the disease. The study aims to identify
some of the genetic causes of the disease by studying this large group of testicular cancer patients from the UK. We hope that our research will help us to understand the biology of this disease which may then allow us to understand the causes of testicular cancer and perhaps also to develop better treatments for this disease.
To participate in this study you will have needed to have had testicular cancer and have completed your treatment. We would need you to provide us with a small blood sample for genetic studies and complete a short questionnaire about yourself and your family. We would also ask that, if possible, your parents also provide us with a small blood sample. We realise this may not be possible in all cases and we would still like you to participate even if your parents are unable or unavailable to provide a blood sample.
