Charlie Hodgson

Welcome back Charlie!

Armed with just his skateboard, a tent and       rucksack full of clothes, Charlie Hodgson embarked on his adventure for Everyman.

On the 1st of August, Charlie Hodgson set off on his challenge, skateboarding from London to Morocco in support of Everyman.

With just his skateboard, a tent and rucksack full of clothes, Charlie predicted he would be on the road for over two and a half months. He travelled through France, Spain and Gibraltar before his final destination, Marrakech, Morocco. He returned to London on Tuesday 30th October.

Charlie, who has been skateboarding since he was 13, covered over 1,500 miles on his trip which is the equivalent of travelling from Lands End to John O'Groats twice.

At each stage of the journey, Charlie designated three possible routes to take, varying in difficulty.  People could choose which route he took by donating online and voting A, B or C – depending on how kind they wanted to be to him!   At each stage new routes were chosen so there’s no reason not to donate again and again.

Charlie said prior to his departure: “People might think that I’m rather foolhardy trying to go that far with no help apart from my left calf muscle - however, I’m doing it to raise as much cash as possible for Everyman, to help fund vital research into male cancer and ultimately saves lives.”

Charlie was interviewed on Wednesday 31st October on BBC Breakfast, where he spoke about his involvement with Everyman and his experience.

We welcome Charlie back and thank him for all his hard work and support.
