Everyman and Butlins Join Forces Against Male Cancer

10 April 2006

The Everyman Male Cancer Campaign has joined forces with the UK's leading holiday Resort Butlins, with the aim of raising money to help fund vital research into testicular and prostate cancer.

The partnership kicked off today, with the launch of Butlinsbingo.com, the holiday company's first online bingo site. The 'Eyes Down and Check Your Balls' campaign was launched across the UK by TV star and DJ Fran Cosgrove with assistance from the famous Butlins Redcoats.

Throughout the year, Everyman and Butlins will work together on a variety of high profile initiatives at the three coastal Resorts in Bognor Regis, Minehead and Skegness. The 'ball'-led sporting campaigns will help raise awareness of male cancer to UK families and also raise vital resources for research at The Everyman Centre - Europe's first and only dedicated male cancer research centre.

Butlinsbingo.com will run Everyman bingo games during the launch and in the charities key awareness month of June.

Richard Bates, Butlins Operations Director said "We're delighted to be working in partnership with Everyman. Everyman's 'cheeky' brand fits perfectly with Butlins' image. Men can be hopeless at looking after their own health, so by arranging different events across the Butlins Resorts, we hope to reach out to all of our guests and promote this serious issue".

Philip Black, Director of Fundraising at Everyman said, "We are very excited about the partnership with Butlins. Butlins attracts well over a million guests each year and we hope that the on-site initiatives and joint fundraising activities will help generate further awareness and additional funds for Everyman. All money raised will go directly into male cancer research at The Everyman Centre."
