WAGS Festive Charity Extravaganza

19 December 2006

Danielle Lloyd, Alex Best, Charlotte Mears, Lizzie Cundy and Page 3 girls Nicola T and Leilani joined forces with The Everyman Male Cancer Campaign and fashion house Diab'less for Wags in Winter Wonderland, a fashion show and fundraiser held at SW Nineteen bar on 18 December 2006.

The event raised over £8,000 which will fund research to find new life-saving treatments for testicular and prostate cancer.

“The girls got together and decided to do something to brighten up a cold winter evening at the same time as making some money for a very good cause.

“We wanted our husbands, boyfriends and friends to be more aware about male cancers that affect over 30,000 men a year in the UK. How better to get their attention than by getting some beautiful women to model some amazing clothes?” said Lizzie Cundy, wife of ex-professional football player and Everyman Patron, Jason Cundy.

The night’s entertainment kicked off with a fashion show featuring clothes from the Diab'less spring collection. Whilst the women admired the clothes, the men in the audience were able to check out the latest MV Agusta Superbike from Trackstar-Racing. Riders Brian McCormack and Martin Buckles were also on hand to show their support.

The show was followed by a raffle at which a football shirt owned by John Terry and signed by the England squad was up for grabs, as well as lots of other goodies.

“The wags have shown that when it comes to fighting male cancers a bit of girl power comes in very handy. The money raised tonight will help fund vital new research to find better cancer treatments and methods of diagnosis that ultimately save lives,” said Hannah Crabtree from The Everyman Campaign.
