28 May 2007
A new and exclusive series of photographs show international stars including the Scissor Sisters, Kings of Leon and Rufus Wainwright supporting the 2007 Everyman Male Cancer Awareness Month.
Sporting a limited edition Everyman pin badge created exclusively for Topman by jewellery designer Husam El Odeh, other names behind this year’s Campaign include The View, Lauren Laverne, The Horrors, Alexa Chung, New Young Pony Club, Jo Whiley and Dirty Pretty Things.
With the broad artist support and the sale of badges, Topman hopes to reach out and educate an audience of young men with a valuable insight into a disease, which is often ignored yet easily detected. Testicular cancer is currently the most common cancer amongst men aged between 15 and 45 years and the number of cases in increasing dramatically. The good news is that if testicular cancer is caught early enough, there is a cure rate of 99%.
The pin badges go on sale from the end of May nationwide and online at Topman.com at a price of £2, with all proceeds going directly to Everyman.
“As a leading male fashion brand in the UK, Topman is ideally placed to give out total support to the Everyman campaign and raise awareness within our target market of this serious issue. Over the last five years we have managed to raise in excess of £250,000 for this essential cause.” David Shepherd, Topman Managing Director.
