Celebrities Strip Off for Everyman

9 May 2006

A host of sexy male celebrities, including Max and Paddy star Patrick McGuiness, actor Nick Moran and singer Ronan Keating have taken their clothes off for a ‘Centrefolds VIP special’ in the June issue of Cosmopolitan magazine in aid of The Everyman Campaign.  As with the monthly Centrefold page in the magazine, which promotes the Everyman message, this special edition is helping to raise awareness of male cancer throughout June, which is Everyman Male Cancer Awareness Month.

Ronan Keating bravely bares all to help raise awareness

This is the fifth consecutive year that Cosmopolitan has supported Everyman through its Celebrity Naked Centrefold feature. The June issue also coincides with the tenth anniversary of the Cosmo Centrefold which will be marked at the high profile launch event on May 9th at Floridita in London.  All the centrefolds involved agreed to pose without any clothes to help highlight the issues around testicular and prostate cancer.  Money will also be raised for Everyman this year through a ‘text voting’ competition where readers can select their favourite centrefold.

Philip Black from The Everyman Campaign commented, “Everyman is delighted to be celebrating 5 years of working with Cosmopolitan magazine. The centrefold special is a great way to raise awareness of male cancer amongst females, who are often vital when educating the men in their lives about health issues.  As testicular cancer is 99% curable if caught early enough, making men and their partners aware of the signs and symptoms is very important so that men can recognise any problems early on.”

Everyman is a campaign run by The Institute of Cancer Research to raise awareness of, and funds for research into, male cancer at The Everyman Centre – Europe’s first and only centre dedicated to male cancer research
