Tiger Pussycat Test - Prostate Cancer Aggressiveness Test

Researchers in the Cell Transformation Team are using information from the Human Genome Project to identify markers that can be used to distinguish slow-growing prostate cancer (pussycats) from aggressive prostate cancers (tigers).

This work forms part of our overall goal to develop a test for prostate cancer aggressiveness, which may ultimately prevent thousands of men undergoing unnecessary surgery.

This work is part of the National Cancer Research Institute South of England Prostate Cancer Collaborative.
