Enjoy cycling along tree-lined canals and through pretty fishing villages en route for the bright lights of Amsterdam.

You don't need cycling experience to enjoy this fantastic trip - just enthusiasm and a love of the outdoors. You'll enjoy Dutch hospitality in beautiful, clean and friendly hostels.

The cost of this challenge is £399. There is no minimum sponsorship – we simply ask you to raise as much as you can.

Route details
Day 1: Overnight sailing from Harwich to Hoek van Holland
Day 2: Cycle north along the coast to Noordwijk (Distance: 35 miles)
Day 3: Noordwijk to converted castle in Heemskerk along canal-side paths and through picturesque villages (29 miles)
Day 4: Heemskerk to the Ijssel Sea, Edam Volendam, boat to Marken Island and through Waterland to Amsterdam (35 miles)
Day 5: Day off to explore Amsterdam - visit museums, galleries and flower markets
Day 6: A beautiful day's cycling alongside the river Amstel to Rotterdam, Holland's exciting second city (60 miles)
Day 7: Cycle down the impressive Nieuw Maas canal to the Hoek for an overnight sailing to Harwich (39 miles)
Arrive Harwich 06.30am Monday morning

Do I need my own bike?
No. There is the option of hiring a bike for the challenge. However, you’re also welcome to bring your own.

Is there a minimum age
Yes. The minimum age is 14 and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Optional cycling day
When you reach Amsterdam on day five, you can relax and do some sightseeing or take the optional bike ride to the lovely island of Marken on the Ijsselmeer.
